Well done to all our students who took part in the Catholic Social Teaching competition! The CST stories were certainly exciting to read and the children included all the CAFOD principles and character mascots. They focused on how we can make the world a better place underpinning the Ladauto Si letter from Pope Francis.
In the spirit of Patariki the Penguin, all the children who participated and entered the competition received a prize. The bear keyring toys were greatly appreciated by the children and they gave them their very own names.
Congratulations to our top three winners Anna T (Yr 5), Timmy (Yr 3) and Ava (Yr 1) who were given a special mention during Collective Worship, a CAFOD certificate, and a sticker .
The leadership of St Margaret Clitherow promotes Catholic Social Teaching in many different ways. Our CST school competition was a marvellous celebration of this. The competition supported the children's involvement and engagement of putting their faith into action creatively which further consolidated their understanding of CST in greater depth. As a result of this, our pupils have become more familiarised with Ladauto Si, the CAFOD principles and character mascots following on from the CST assemblies carried out last year. Furthermore, they are motivated to join God's mission and understand faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action is dead (Heb 11). Our St Margaret Clitherow family are actively doing this by helping the needy and loving our neighbour as ourselves.
