Our students recently participated in Christ the King children's mass at Corpus Christi. It was child led and the children carried out a presentation and dance surrounding Christ the King. Our Year 1's and 2's wore crowns which they made at school. Our Year 3's and 4's created a poster and wrote something about what Christ means to them on post it notes which they brought forward to the altar. The penitential rite and bidding prayers were written by Years 5 and 6. Children from all year groups took part in the mass carrying out readings, altar serving, choosing hymns and bringing forward the offertory. A parishioner read the second reading and Gospel acclamation which wonderfully connected both the school and parish together.
This mass was attended by many families from St Margaret Clitherow, parishioners, governors and staff.
