ST MARGARET CLITHEROW CATHOLIC PRIMARY SCHOOL
Our Yr6 pupils performed “Cinderella Rockerfella” beautifully, they sang and acted professionally and it was very enjoyable. We were very lucky to have a professional programme editor come in and film the production for us. We will forward the password to Year 6 parents to enable them to access the secure site, to watch at your leisure. Well done to all the children and to our Year 6 Teachers and LSAs for all their hard work on stage direction and great costumes.
Our Yr6 enjoyed a fun day today starting with an award ceremony from Sports Day then games on the field, stories (with popcorn) and art, they were served pizza for lunch followed by ice cream from Alice’s Ices! It was great that they could enjoy all this with some lovely sunny weather! We would like to thank the Year 6 Leaving party committee for paying for the pizzas and generous parents for the drinks.
KCSP ART COMPETITION
Following the above competition, we have heard that four of our children received Highly Commended for their entries. Certificates will be given out next week to those individuals. Please take a look at the letter from KCSP which you can find on our website under ‘Newsletter’. Well done to the all the children who entered.
KCSP WRITING COMPETITION
KCSP also ran a writing competition and I am very pleased to say that an entry from school, has won! They will receive a certificate next week. There is a letter on the website, for the children who took part, well done to you all for your inspiring writing!
School reports will be emailed out today, as they are being done individually, please bear with us as you will not necessarily receive siblings at the same time. However, if you do not receive your child’s report by Sunday evening, please let the school know on Monday.
END OF SCHOOL YEAR MASS – Tuesday 20 July
We are sad that parents are unable to join us for the end of school Mass, however, we will be posting the reflections and prayers on the website for parents to see.
Details of all school-led lunch time and after school clubs will be sent out in September.
The price of a school meal is increasing to £2.35 from September. Lunches are free for Reception and KS1 children. A new menu has been posted on Parentpay and you will be able to book your child’s meals over the summer holiday. Please remember that the deadline for booking for the first week of term will be Saturday (midnight) 28 August.
The swimming guidelines for Primary schools state that children should be able to swim competently, confidently and proficiently over a distance of at least 25 metres before they leave Year 6. Therefore, with this in mind, we are looking at changing the way we offer swimming lessons. We will be focusing on children in Years 4, 5 and 6 who are unable to swim 25 metres. We will shortly send out a survey to enable us to organise groups from September.
