ST MARGARET CLITHEROW CATHOLIC PRIMARY SCHOOL
Dear Parents and Carers,
Welcome to the last newsletter of what has been a most unusual time!
School has been open since the beginning of lockdown, only being closed on Good Friday and Easter Monday. This is definitely a first in SMC’s history; let’s hope that it will also remain a unique experience.
I want to pay tribute to all who have shown such perseverance, resilience and dedication to learning: children, parents and teachers. We always knew you were fabulous, this has proved it!
This Monday’s assembly was on the theme of prayer – focussing on the Our Father as the prayer that Jesus taught us.
PE kits and belongings
Any remaining PE kits or belongings are being moved to your child’s new classroom in readiness for September. There will be no need for PE kits in the first few days of term.
We are, however, introducing some changes for PE, due to guidelines around hygiene. Children will be asked to come to school already dressed for PE on their PE days. They will then wear their PE kit all day and go home in it so that it can be washed. They will be expected to wear tracksuit bottoms on their way to and from school, but may have their shorts on underneath. Please find links below to suitable tracksuit bottoms:
Marks and Spencers - Unisex
Asda - girls
School uniform will be needed, including school shoes, a named water bottle, sun hat and sun cream. The sun cream should already be applied, as we will not be able to apply it. As few personal belongings should come in as possible; there is no need for a school bag. All home learning will come to you via Seesaw.
Communication will be via the Key Stage addresses as below and emails will be answered up to 4pm during term time. At other times, please contact either Mrs Ryan or Mrs Whittle.
Early Years: firstname.lastname@example.org
KS1 (Yr 1/2): email@example.com
Mrs Ryan: firstname.lastname@example.org
Mrs Whittle: email@example.com
There will be a one-way system for pedestrians, using the driveway, so no parking on-site nor vehicle access. There will be a member of staff on the top gate at drop-off and pick-up times; I will be there to help you on the first day.
Take a look at the class pages and the Gallery to have a glimpse of what the children have been up to during these past months. There are many wonderful pieces of work. Well done, everyone!
I wish you all a wonderful summer and look forward very much to seeing everyone back in school, refreshed and ready to go in September.
May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face; the rains fall soft upon your fields and, until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand.
