NEWSLETTER No.30 – 30 April 2021

Dear Parents

In our assembly today we explored the second line of our Mission Statement; where we talk of Loving God, ourselves and others.  We discussed what we do well and where we can improve; that it is important to appreciate ourselves justly so that we can appreciate other too.  As usual, the children then talked together of what this looks like in practice.  Are we showing our faith and love of God in what we do and say?

NEW RECEPTION CLASS SEPTEMBER INTAKE 2021

Offers have been sent out by KCC for the new Reception Class September intake.  All Acceptances need to be emailed to the school office (office@st-margaret-tonbridge.kcsp.org.uk) no later than Wednesday 5 May 2021. Please contact the School Office if you have any queries.

LUNCH BOOKINGS

We have noticed that some parents have booked more than one meal choice per day for their child/ren.  The kitchen can only prepare one lunch per child, therefore, we would ask that only one meal is selected for each booking.  Thank you for your support with this.

HEALTHY ME!

Our Year 2 children took part in a fun and active Healthy Me workshop today, where they looked at different ways to stay fit and keep healthy.

PARENT SURVEY

The link below will take you to a short survey, which we would be most grateful if you could complete.  Thank you.

SCHOOL COLLECTION

May I remind you that all children are to remain with their adult at all times during collection from school, they should not be running across car parks or in between the parked cars or up the grass verge, but walking sensibly up the driveway where it is safe.

I would like to confirm that football and netball clubs finish at 4.20pm. We would ask that you collect your child promptly as the Instructors need to move onto other clubs. Please note that there is NO parking on site for collection from afterschool clubs.

SCHOOL TRIPS

We are currently arranging school trips across the school and we will send out letters when they have been confirmed.  Please note that you will need to give permission for your child to attend a trip via the Parentpay system before paying.

IOW RESIDENTIAL TRIP – Year 5 and 6

Medical forms were sent out this week via Parentpay. We would very much appreciate it if parents could return the completed Medical forms to their child’s class teacher as soon as possible, but by 14 May at the latest. Thank you.

We will shortly be arranging information evening for all parents in Years 5 and 6.

Any outstanding payments should be made by the end of May, please check your Parentpay account or contact the school office for assistance.

ONLINE SAFETY NEWSLETTER

This appears monthly and has very useful discussion points.  Please do read.  It is also on the website.

SCHOOL TRENDS

We have been informed by School Trends that the cut-off date for parent orders to be placed in time for September delivery will be before the end of July.  Therefore, we would encourage you to order as early as possible to allow time for returns should there be any problems with sizing.

SECONDHAND UNIFORM - PTA

We have lots of items in our second hand shop, and as we are unable to hold a ‘live’ sale, if you require any items, please email the PTA at smcpta2017@gmail.com.  Mrs Knight has very kindly offered to fulfil your orders if you would like to email a wish list to the PTA, who will forward it to her.  Deadline for this, the end of next week.  She will then work her way through the orders as fast as possible.  All items are priced at £1.00.

We hope you all enjoy a lovely long Bank Holiday weekend and we look forward to seeing you back in school on Tuesday.

Yours sincerely
