ST MARGARET CLITHEROW CATHOLIC PRIMARY SCHOOL
In our ‘live’ zoom assembly this morning with Yr 6, we celebrated Christ the King, which falls this Sunday, the last of the Church’s year. The children thoughtfully discussed the nature of Jesus’ Kingship: that he is the Servant King and gave that example for us to follow through his life. We also celebrated our fabulous footballers – four of whom have been chosen to play for the West Kent District side. They have been great role models as they led PE this week in Yr 6.
We were delighted to see so many of you at ‘Zoom’ consultation evenings this week. As a school we find this opportunity very helpful to meet with parents and hope that you find them of value in understanding the development of your children’s learning.
ADMISSIONS TO RECEPTION IN SEPTEMBER 2021
KCC’s online application system is now open: www.kent.gov.uk/ola. All parents will need to complete both our school’s Supplementary Information Form (SIF) and also KCC’s Primary Admissions Form (RCAF) by 15 January 2021. When completing the RCAF please note our school’s DfE number is 3744.
Whilst we are unable to carry out tours of the school, you can book a ‘zoom’ tour with Mrs Ryan. Please call the school office to book an appointment.
KS1 proudly presents: The Nativity
This will take a different format this year due to all the restrictions around COVID. We will film and then intend to post on the website by the last week of term.
RECEPTION CLASS NATIVITY PLAY
This too, will be filmed and posted on the website.
We will share this, on film, with Corpus Christi parish. It will be available to view on the website under “Catholic Life”.
As part of our Christmas festivities, the school kitchen will be serving a hot Christmas dinner to the children at lunchtime on two dates (Reception and KS1 on 16 December and KS2 on 17 December). This special lunch will be paid for by the school. If your child will not be having Christmas lunch on that day, please do let us know (via email to the office) so we can organise numbers for the kitchen. If you have already booked your child for this date, please ensure you unbook as soon as possible, and the money (if you’re in KS2) will be credited to your account.
We have been focusing some of our learning on anti-bullying this week. The children enjoyed wearing odd socks on Monday to show that it is okay to be different and indeed our differences should be celebrated.
CHRISTMAS HAMPER GOODIES
Thank you to the many families that donated items for the TBC food bank Christmas hampers. They were overwhelmed and very thankful for the amount of items you have generously gifted! Thank you!
The weather is now getting much colder, please ensure your child/ren wear a suitable (named) warm coat to school every day. Hats and gloves, also named, are always a good idea.
FOREST CLUB SHELTER
Eventually, we will have an outdoor classroom near the fire pit for groups to use when outside. In the meantime, we have just put up a shelter in the woods which has already seen good use.
The Covid Risk Assessment continues to be reviewed. Thank you for observing social distancing to and from school.
Hygiene standards are being maintained; we had a deep clean of Yr 1 this week.
The PTA AGM is being held this Wednesday at 7.30pm by Zoom. All are welcome, please email email@example.com for a link.
Yours, Lord, is the greatness, the power, the glory, everything in heaven and on earth.
