NEWSLETTER No.28 – 29 March 2018

Dear Parents

Thank you for your kind and thoughtful Easter wishes and for your supportive and kind responses to our exciting future developments. This term ended today with Stations of the Cross this afternoon, which was led with drama and singing very prayerfully by Years 5\6. Following assembly this morning all the children took part in a very exciting and fun Easter Egg hunt to find their eggs!

The KS1 classes had a great time this week when they enjoyed creative activities, including baking crispy cakes – which smelt delicious and I’m sure will taste wonderful.

This week we have enjoyed fabulous performances from our Year 3/4 classes.  They all worked very hard on learning their lines, song words and acting skills and they created engaging and emotional performances.  It was a wonderful way to see and understand the Easter story. We are very proud of you all!  Also, we would like to thank their teachers and support staff for all their hard work in putting together such a wonderful production and a special thank you to Mrs Bradburne for playing so beautifully for us.

After Easter our pupils in Year 5 will have lessons for another 3 weeks (£12.00) followed by 2 weeks of Yr3/4 extra swimmers (£8.00) and then Year 6 will have lessons for one week (£4.00). Contributions to help cover the cost of transport and instruction at the pool are much appreciated.

If your child is in Year 3/4 and cannot swim or is a reluctant swimmer or you would like them to gain more confidence in the water, please let the office know, in writing so they can be added to the swimming list.

19, 26 April and 3 May – Year 5 swimming (£12.00)

10 and 17 May – Year 3/4 extra swimming (those children who cannot swim) (£8.00)

24 May – Year 6 (£4.00)

We will be reimbursing those Year 5 parents who have already paid, the cost of the two swimming lessons missed due to snow and the transport issue by carrying £8.00 over to your child’s school trip.

Please see below an advert for a Class Teacher required for September. Please see our website for further details and to download a job description, person spec and application form.

A summer term menu will go out with the children after the Easter break. You can, however, see a copy on our website. Please ensure all dinner monies are paid for in advance for next term. If your child has changed their meal patterns, please contact the school office so that we can update their dinner registers.

A calendar with key dates for Terms 5 and 6 will be sent out at the beginning of next term and will also be on our website.

Children may return to school in their summer uniform if the weather is warm enough. Should you need to order uniform from School Trends, they have reduced their delivery costs to £2.99 or you can have your order delivered to school for free, remembering that we will not be able to accept any deliveries before 16 April.

All teacher led clubs will start in the week commencing 23 April.  Msporti, Gym and Dance will commence the week beginning 16 April.  Please note that if your child is attending a morning club they will not be able to enter the school building before 8am and should not be left unaccompanied by an adult until they have been signed in at the office.  Please see the attached details regarding the Dance Club.

Two of our parents have kindly offered to run a sewing club on a Tuesday lunchtime between 12.30pm and 1pm.  There will be a charge of £1.00 per child for materials which will be collected by the office.  There are a maximum of 12 spaces available, therefore if you would like your child to join, please let the office know, in writing.  The club will start on Tuesday 24 April.

I wish you all a restful holiday and a joyful and blessed Easter. I look forward to seeing the children on Monday 16 April.

Yours sincerely

Annemarie Whittle
